Hi there, I'm Sofia
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually unfolded into a new chapter living abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the master plan. As with many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and elevated expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of trial and error. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We uncovered places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Created Novel Drizzle Quiet
Most online information tended to be corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that divide — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
